The Beauty of Economy. The authorities’ main constraint for the design of this social housing development was to achieve a construction cost below 1,000 Euros per square metre. A system of external walkways on the one side of the building and a traditional façade equipped with a wooden brise-soleil on the other, guarantee double exposure to all twelve apartments. The internal layouts are fluid and optimize space use. The building’s prefabricated timber structure reduces construction time and costs, while offering optimal insulation for energy saving and comfort for its users.
