Our intervention on the Dopolavoro building of the Marriott Resort consisted in preserving unaltered the original main part of the building through careful restoration of external finishes, and redesigning the demolished rear section, of which only the south wall was still standing. The south wall was retained and its silhouette inspired the shape of the steel portal frames, which act like an echo of the demolished section that used to link the rear wall to the main building. The first section is glazed and enclosed, while the naked steel frames, stripped of their glazed element define the outdoor dining area. A series of vegetable gardens provide fresh local ingredients for use in the restaurant.
